System of a Down duo starting over with new band

ANGELES (Billboard) - While System of a Down is on a hiatus, two members of the
Los Angeles hard-rock band have been busy with their new project, Scars on
Broadway.
The group's self-titled debut is due July 29 via Interscope. The first radio
single, "They Say," is currently at No. 20 on Billboard's Modern Rock chart.
During a recent European tour to promote the album, guitarist/vocalist Daron
Malakian was pleasantly surprised by the reaction he saw from concertgoers. |

Scars On Broadway Track Downloaded 100,000 Times In One Day

Scars On Broadway, the new band led by System of a Down guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan, has had its new single, "They Say," selected as "Single of the Week" at iTunes, with the online music store inviting people to download it for free. As a result, the track was downloaded more than 100,000 times on the first day alone. "They Say" has also been streaming at the band's MySpace page and official web site, where it has been played nearly 450,000 times. All this bodes well for the group's self-titled debut album, which arrives on July 29th.

Scars to Perform on BBC Radio 1 Rock Show

 Scars
on Broadway performed a set for Radio 1 at the famous Maida Vale studios whilst
they were in the UK for the Underworld gig.
The performance will be aired at Daniel P. Carter's Rock Show on Radio 1 on
Tuesday 22nd July from 00:00 - 01:00 (that's Monday night...technically Tuesday
morning..)
