Shavo Odadjian doesn't want you to just listen to his music; he wants you to
see it. The Grammy-winning multi-instrumentalist is far from your average
musician.
Shavo's songs range from schizophrenically catchy metal to introspective
spacey hip hop to bass heavy mind-altering electronic broken tech beats. While
in System of a Down, he crafted some of the most infectious, poignant and
popular heavy metal tunes of the 21st century.
Presently, RZA is readying the release of Digi Snacks, his third album in the
Bobby Digital series, geared up for July 1st release [click to read]. In
preparation for the Koch Records release, RZA shot a video for the album's first
single, "U Can't Stop Me Now."
The song, which features Inspectah Deck, is inspired by Afrika Bambaataa's
"Renegades of Funk," using familiar a sample and chorus that's been interpolated
by artists ranging from Ill Bill to Mos Def. The lyrics to the song chronicle
the sacrifices made for RZA's dream, including buying his first SP-12 sampler
for $500, prompting the producer's illustrious career.

While
fans and Wu-Tang Clan enthusiasts continue to lay down opinions on the group's
latest project 8 Diagrams, the Wu's founder, the Rza, is moving on to new
projects.
His latest project is a group called Achozen, consisting of himself and System
Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian. The two musicians have been working on
the genre blending project since 2005, and now, it's finally nearing completion.
While Shavo calls the project simply "music" not putting it into any musical
genre categories, RZA told us while in L.A. last week to expect something "very
spiritual."
