I consider myself to be one of the fortunate few who has seen many live
performances of the legendary System of a Down and now Scars On
Broadway. The day was nearing for us to embark on our road trip to witness
the show in Tucson, Az. Anticipation and excitement kicked in as we took the 7
hour drive from LA. Once we reached the exit a line of cars stretched from the
off ramp to the remaining two miles of our destination, the Pima Fairgrounds.
It seemed like the two miles took longer then the drive from LA to Arizona.
We finally made it to the parking lot entrance and Scars was taking stage at
7:45 PM.
Worried that we would miss the show, I finally lost it and cut the line
through the hundred or so cars waiting to get in and we made it to the front of
the main entrance. As we arrived we had the privilege of getting escorted by
crew members to the side of the stage where the show had just begun.
Looking on
to the stage while Scars On Broadway performed their set in front of a sea of
people was just amazing.
The performance was so tight you couldn't help but to
rock out with them. Daron's iconic voice echoed through the Fairgrounds, John's
thunderous drumming set the pace and the rest of the band kicked ass with
unbelievable energy capturing the audience with the first note.
I felt so proud
to witness the beginning of a historical rock band take place and non the less
from the side of the stage. Looking out to the audience I saw people getting
crushed as mosh pits developed and people were being pulled from the front line
by security for their own safety.
As each song of the set took place people were
just soaking up every bit of the music they could . All and all it was a night
to remember and Scars delivered a powerful performance that left people
screaming at the end "ONE MORE SONG, ONE MORE SONG".
