| Well, what does everyone think of them? Me, they're one of my favorite bands, have been for years. I enjoy all of their albums to a point, but I prefer, as many do, their older, pre-black album stuff. I own all of their albums, and my favorite, And Justice For All, is to me, their masterpiece. Each album has something special to it for me, each has at least a couple songs I love. My favorite song is One, no contest, that song is brilliant. |

sadly...i've only barely begun to get into them...i have the black album and i donno what the other albums they have are but...oh yeah and i have the latest one i think "st. anger" ....its kinda hard to explain to people that soad kind of opened a door for me to a world of all kinds of music (different to what i've been listening too) so i'm barely learning what iron maiden is and black sabbath, rush, metalica, slayer and all that good stuff so spare me please....
Anyways...i do love metalica good stuff |

Take your time with new music, let it set in, enjoy each band as you discover them. It's good that your taste is expanding, but do it at your own pace, of course. Oh, and you should check out some of Metallica's pre-black album stuff, if you like heavier stuff, you'll love it. Master Of Puppets and And Justice For All are great albums you should check out sometime. |

well, when metal was real cool in the late 80's and early 90's i was mostly into alterno lame poppy stuff... like the cure and stuff like that. i agree with kevin tho, One is hands down THE best song ever in the history of time. the guitar riffs are beyond melodic, the lyrics are amazing, the video, good god... what a great song...
my favorite album by them (enjoying the garage days) is metallica metallica... wherever i may roam is one of those songs that just makes me go, DAMN i wish i could write like that. about his passion for motorcycles... he talks of his death saying, my body lies, but still i roam... that lyric is THA bomb...
i dig them, they're older and slower and probably out for cash, but i LOOOOOVE the new bassist, i'd put a hurting on that guy... and they still are funny and great entertainers.. despite lars and his need to get every last penny from us... |

dude you chose their worst 2 albums really...but the same thing happened to me, like i found soad got obssessed with aerials when i saw the video, and then i found out about all this other music and realized "they DONT play the good stuff on the radio!"
i like One...to a certain extent. sure its a masterpiece and everything but a)that end part where hes playing very very fast then stopping then fast then stopping with lyrics in the background...never liked that at all b)the song always always sounds out of rythm because of the lack of bass. on that album, actually, they dont have a single bass note. the best think they could possibly do right now would be to remake it with their new bassist, and actually use him, cuz i dont like any of the songs on it that much for that reason. master of puppets though, thats insane. that stuff rules. also Kill Em All |
