Finnish goverment is going to change the gun law, and the new age limit will be 18, but both of these shooters (in jokela, and now this one) Were over 18 so to me it seems that they change it just cause something must be done.
In finland hunting (for ex. mooses and ducks) is very popular activity. Thatīs the most important reason why guns are leagal, and easy to get. There have been only very few cases where guns have been used to thread human life. There havenīt really been good reason to change the laws. (Of course you canīt just walk to store and buy gun, you have to pass certain tests before it..)
I would like to make clear, that even though there is lot of guns here, Finns arent "gun-crazy" people. Gun aint measure of man! |

I never was thinking that . I like Finland and its ppl, as I told once on another thread .. 
I was thinking 15 year-olds were allowed to buy guns just like that .
But I learned the parents have to give their agreeement to it . |

This list make me scared to go out anywhere. There have been shootings at Richmond, VA, Blacksburg, VA, and Baltimore, MD-- inbetween all of those places is where I live, Fairfax, VA... it's like eventually it'll happen here :/ |

SystemofaDownisHot, you are in NoVa? That is where I am from....Reston, to be exact...but now I live in Roanoke...
And shootings happen in Fairfax all the time, or near Fairfax. Where I used to live is infested with gangs, and the further towards D.C. you get, the more likely you are to encounter violence, including shootings. SE DC is really bad, especially getting down towards Anacostia. Poverty plays a large factor in that, though...I've witnessed quite a few horrible things....when I was still in high school, there were a few times that gang members would get into fights, and once or twice one of them would pull a gun....
Weapons to me are a form of self-preservation. And they are good for hunting too |
