Well in a lot of interviews Daron has said that he wasn't the one who wanted System to break up, but that another member did, (which, according to the magazines, implies that it was Serj who wanted to proceed on his solo project) and that Daron wanted System to stay together but after a while he realized it was out of his control.

Of course Daron is not going to name-drop Serj, he's above that.

Four people decided to take a break, maybe forever. It's pointless to blame it all on Serj or Daron (who stated that it was like changing his name) - Shavo and John wanted/needed/were involved in it as much as the others.

Yeah it's not all of Serj but according to John - it was a lot of it. When they started to work on Mezm/Hypnotize, Serj had a lot of songs he wanted on the album. Daron obviously brought a lot in since that's what he's always done. In the end - Everyone agreed (maybe or maybe not Serj as well), that Daron's songs just had a better vibe.

They say they all agreed on it but no one will ever know if they truley agreed on the "hiatus" or not. Just like how they called a "hiatus" while Daron likes to say.."no - we are unsure if we'll do system or not anymore".

They say there's no issues between them - but Daron and Serj sure are "short" when theres any mention of the opposites album. Serj claims he has it but hasn't listened to it all yet while Daron says he listened to Serj's either. Both a Coachella (I think..or not) and merely just said hi and that was it.

Nobody will really know the true reason they seperated. They can say stuff but you never know it's true. It could just be to ease over the fact we may never see them again. It's better then just coming out and saying "we are done with system for ever".

i am constantly reading interviews and basically whatever i can get my hands on, and never once have i seen one that would suggest daron has an "ego"/ rudeness toward an interviewer
and watching that interview voodoo_blues posted of serj, i was completely shocked!
its not that he had an ego toward the interviewer, but basically just treated and spoke to him like he was a worthless piece of sh*t
i dont find the interviewer asked something so out of line to be treated so poorly
in my book, someone who talks to people like that is a piece of sh*t!!!

Awww guys, and even if Serj was the one to say it first, hey, lets go on hiatus - the others agreed, right?! Why do we ALWAYS get back to "Serj vs. Daron" - topics?! Really, this sucks so much, and in my opinion, those are things that destroy the atmosphere around here.
People feel they have to be either for Serj or for Daron and against the other one, and well, you can read some posts ago what comes out of it Rolling Eyes like I said, flaming and insulting.

I dont give a shit who was the first to say he wants to go on hiatus but look at the guys - they seem to be happy now ! And its their business how they deal with the situation. Serj smiles and Daron says he doesnt wanna talk about that shit. So what?!

^Thank you. This is so annoying. They're doing their own thing and want to focus on them. Normal people do it all the time but when they do it it's because they have a huge ego problem? No, it's because they aren't willing to let fans dictate their entire lives. We love them and their music, they love us(sometimes), that doesn't give anyone the right to go and tell them they're egotists for wanting to follow their own beat for awhile.

I can't believe how you keep defending Daron. Yes, the annoying guy has always been hios role but interviewers are doing their job. They have to assume that readers are not all die-hard fans that lick up every drop that they can get of a bandmember's spit so they have to ask certain question-in this case, the hiatus, it's been a huge topic and SOAD weren't exactly a little band that had a hit or two and then faded into nothingness. You know, it is fairly common practice for artists to have their PR people tell journalists in advance what topics they can't talk about, usually private lives or other projects or feuds made public. So yes, he would be able to do that and not being forced to react the way he does, which is, btw, unprofessional.

I personally find it bad style to react the way he did. He sounds like a pissed of teenage girl and very ungrateful. Seeing as this is by no means necessary and that he lately liked to refer to himself as "main" songwriter and put things like he was the one doing everything for System, yes, I'd say so.

Just because they give 'guidelines' for what you can and cannot ask doesn't mean that journalists always listen, you can only really dictate that if you are willing to refuse to speak to them if they don't stick to your questions. Which, as a member of a new band, Daron really won't do, Scars needs the publicity. When has Daron ever been 'professional' If you expect him to suddenly act like he gives a shit, you're smoking something stronger than i am. He got pretty pissed off all that time when people said it was all Serj and he doesn't seem to have gotten over that( i will give that it's maybe time to stop being so irritable about that). I'm defending the fact that even if sometimes he seems arrogant most of the time he's just being himself and it's not a crime to do the same thing everyone else does on a daily basis, which is bitch about the things that bug you.

You won't believe the shit even unknown bands that are up and coming will pull in interviews when it comes to things they don't want to be asked and if there are things you have been asked a million times everyone would understand. And if not they can always ask you to leave, easy as that. You're right since when has he been professional, since when did he seem to give a fuck.

So why not just say "You know what, I said I wasn't going to talk about this so screw this" and walk out? Because it's way better to talk shit and stir up all this than to piss off an interviewer and risking that guy writing something bad about you and your attitude. And I don't mean "look at that quirky guy with his random blurbs and his antics. He's so crazy how he pulls down his pants on stage and insults people but you somehow have to love him".

And I'm not smoking anything fyi. I've been a fan of this band for fucking ten years and find his behavior insulting at times. And I do have a little insight into how the whole press machinery works so that adds to my happiness immensely. I know that there are lots of people here who love him and everything he does and that's great for them, I just don't like being e-spat at for having my own view of things.

Not yelling at you for having your own view, but this has got to be the billionth time a thread like this has come up. After the first ten times, it just seems like bitching and moaning about something that's not going to change.I don't always like his attitude, but i understand why he's got the one he does. Don't like his attitude, don't read the article. Especially when it has a title like the one that's front paged now.

True it does bring down the atmosphere in here but its human nature to be interested in all that we are not clear on. The hiatus being one of them. But do remember Curiosity killed the cat. If we truly found out what really happened between the band members; it would cause a rift between the fans. X fans between Z fans and so on. They're doing it for us, they're [imo] protecting us and our unity as system fans.
