actually, I have to agree with that. the wu fans > soad fans thing.
believe me, maybe its not on here, but i've seen WAY too many soad/shavo fans saying shavo a) is "acting black", b) sucks, because "rap sucks omg retards attempting poetry hurf", c) will fail in general, because he's actually deciding to be diverse unlike scars and serj. and you know what, maybe it will fail. i've only seen a few people on here, myself being one of them, with major interest in Achozen.
i think that's being close-minded. disliking achozen for all the wrong reasons. i'm not kidding, you shove a rap group in the average system fan's face and they'll freak out like it's a foreign concept. or evil. whichever. personally i've always like rap and hip hop more than rock anyway.
hmm.. I have to agree with you there. |

I agree with Steven.

[quote="bluemoon"]Well, its a "jam session." Half studio-half live performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6VKwsoH6zs
That jam is mostly Wu/RZA songs already made
and the first studio thing is just a bunch of SOAD bass/guitar lines with verses RZA has done in his career. |

| This topic makes me want to bring this to the table. For the record, I'm not a fan of Rock, Metal, Hip Hop, or Folk. I'm a fan of Musicians and Singers who bring up problems with Governmental Corruption and Troubled Societies, and they even do something about it. That is why I became a fan of SOAD, why I became a fan of RATM, of Scars, of Elect the Dead, even The Nightwatchman, because they bring up what I wanna listen to, and I like it that way. |

I laughed at the interpretation...
I like both
each genre fills a specific space in my head
and I don't just like Achozen because of Shavo , I just heard of them because of Shavo
I mean , I don't go around the web looking for every up and coming music project there is , I just found it through Shavo
plus , I would have eventually been interested in them when I'd see a music video or something
you want a funny example ?
I didn't know that Serj was doing a solo album , I really didn't
so I was watching TV and saw the The Unthinking Majority video , and I liked it , not knowing who made it , and later on I found out that it was Serj and he had been doing a solo project
even though I don't follow a project from the studio till the day of release , one way or another I'm gonna bump into it and like it , maybe not knowing anything about it's making or the people involved
I have the right to like what I like |

It's just as easily reversed. They make it out as if every rap fan also really loves rock, but that the rock fans are only into rock. And would most Wu-Tang fans know about Achozen if RZA wasn't in it? There's close minded rock fans, and closed minded rap fans, just like there's people who'll listen to whatever they like, no matter which genre.
I love how Shavo's decided to go do something in a totally different area, not to prove that he can, but just 'cos he loves it. And maybe it will not be all that populair amongst the rock fans (esp. not the close-minded ones), but if Deuces is anything to go by, I think Achozen could actually become really big. |

I support Shavo for his intrest in other areas but I'm sorry I can't classify rappers as music seeing how they don't play an instrument or sing often. urSESSION really shows how incredibly easy it is to make 5 grand.
As for Achozen it's nothing new. It sounds just like other rap to me. If Shavo went off and did a country album or a classical album I bet you would have plenty of butthurt fans over that as well so no matter how much you would like Achozen to be sucessful I just don't see it as music. For the record I know for a fact some of you (not saying names) are only supporting Achozen because it's Shavo's project. |
