ah! i love this song, but can't figure some parts out:
running to babylon
run all the way to babylon
meet you there in babylon
marooned again, you were the one that threw me into life
marooned again, you were the one that looked ????
i like the way we slept on rooftops in the summertime
if we were all marooned again i'd give my soul to save you
marooned again, you were the one that ????
marooned again, you were the one that took my confidence
i like the way we slept on rooftops in the summertime
if we were all marooned again i'd give my soul to save your life
running from babylon
run all the way to babylon
meet you there in babylon |

wow... the other thread with Babylon lyrics says "we slammed our rooftops" and this one says "slept on rooftops"
I wonder what's right?! |

Pretty sure it's "slept on the rooftops".
Though, "slammed" on the rooftops makes sense too. And it's kinkier. :0 |

Babylon for me has deep lyrics.
I'm sure everyone can relate to it once you've made your own interpretation. I usually don't like sharing my interpretations with other people because everyone should connect in their own way without people telling them what's right/wrong.
I look at Babylon in many ways. The 3 things that popped into my head straight away are:
1) Daron's father
2) Iraq
3) Longing for purpose
I'm not going to break up the song with inserts etc, that's for everyone to do in their own mind |

running to babylon
run all the way to babylon
meet you there in babylon
marooned again, you were the one that threw me into life
marooned again, you were the one that looked into sattered light
i like the way we slept on rooftops in the summertime
if we were all marooned again i'd give my soul to save you
marooned again, you were the one that put me in defence
marooned again, you were the one that took my confidence
i liked the way we slept on rooftops in the summertime
if we were all marooned again i'd give my soul to save your life
running from babylon
run all the way to babylon
meet you there in babylon |
