you aren't serious right?
Dominic sais that Daron doesn't give him news so I think that "they are pretty much over" as he said what? One album and that's it??? That's the end??? |

Try not to be so pessimistic.
I'm waiting for any sign of life from him, but perhaps he's busy stoned and writing music between Disneyland trips with his girlfriend and reading the fanfic stories here...? |

Just another clip on China Girl, but with more to it. It seems like as they tour, they tighten this cover up. They should totally do a studio track of it.
Seems like they played Babylon after, too.
The just makes me more think that Scars On Broadway was Daron trying to carry on System on his own. As he used to cover that for System, drugs also wrote for system, and the entire album sounds like System without Serj's and Shavo's input. Because Shavo is a sex bass player, and Serj has great lyrical writing. |

And Zak as he is totally hot (In a manly friend love way) and spends his money on this website that has brought me closer to my favourite band!

Shavo very, very rarely wrote his own bass lines.
I wouldn't imagine he'd be much better a bassist than Daron.
The music was still remarkably different, not just in the different vocals and bass.
The bass in 99.9% of SOAD's songs follow Daron's root fifth (power) chords.
You're not listening hard enough... |

^ Yes I know it does... I play bass and guitar. But if you listen to Scars... it is EXACTLY the same as Darons Root note. While in system, the bass was much heavier and Shavo managed to pull off this wild sense of awesomeness... because he didn't always play exactly what Darons root note was. E.G Ddevil, Byob, IEAIAIO
To me the entire Scars album stinks of left overs from Mez/Hypn |

...oh, sorry, that was odd - I thought you were merely referring to C#.
Shavo had his own flair, that's undenyable.
But this is really irrelevant to their tour discussion...
Oh, and aside from Daron's little riff from up the C, G, and C strings, the bass riff in Ddevil does follow the powerchords. But when a guitar goes out to another lighter riff that isn't just a pile of powerchords, you can't keep playing the same bass line over and over and expect it to keep the effect.
That's something you learn from song writing and knowledge of structure, not simply playing. |

^ You lost me?? I know they are the same notes being played the same... except just it is HOW he plays it... It is hard to describe, but it gives a sense of bounce and expression, when bass on SOB doesn't for me.
And yeah, once you have re explained so I get it... then we should stop talking about it as this is the tour discussion :p |

^ Agreed.
But this whole thread is a whole lot more moot as of late...
