Here's my little recap of KFMA Day in Tucson,AZ:
(the views and opinions expressed in this are mine, and no one else's - i dont expect everyone or anyone to agree or disagree with me on anything i have said in here. i just wanted to tell it how i saw it since there hasnt been a review of this show yet! and sorry to bore anyone with the extra band stuff and my ride home but hey it was a great night!!)
We get there after driving for 2 hours, park and go in.. we make our way to almost the very front left side of the stage, we were about 5 feet from the barricade.. we found a decent place to stand with semi nice people around us.. the 1st 2 bands played with no issues.. the 3rd band came on and things got wild, we were pushed around a bit, but not too much.. by the end of their set it was getting darker out and things started getting way crowded in there, and we were moving here and there being pushed and such..
by the time SCARS came on, we were in the pit being pushed, pulled, smashed, shoved etc.. normal pit.. it was fun.. although i couldnt see Daron from where i had been pushed too, and i swear every single overweight drunk man was there in the front being assholes and getting in my way.. erik (my bf) had to shove a few men for us.. i got to enjoy their set just listening to them, as i couldnt see them due to the assholes around me.. i hate men/boys at concerts.. they should have to stand in height order lol.. then i would be in the front all the time!!
1st band was semi-sucky the singer screached a lot, they had an alright beat going on tho.. cant remember their name...
2nd band was horrible.. Flobots.. they were really disturbing to my ears.. it was like eminem mixed with a generic rage - they were half white boy rapping and then had the rasta type guy doing some rapping.. not even rapping, it was really lame.. the girl playing the violin was excellent tho, she is the only reason i could tolerate them.. she did an amazing job!!!
3rd band.. Apocolyptica from finland... WOW WOW WOW.. they were amazing!!! it was metal music played on cello's.. i couldnt believe how wonderful they are!!! it was a mix of classical music and instruments but played in a super heavy black metal sound, it was just amazing!!!
4th band... SCARS ON BROADWAY.. what more can i say, they rocked!!! the songs were awesome and im pretty sure they played all the same songs as the other shows, the sound was wonderful, and daron looked as good as ever!! their new music is really good, i love the style and all the different influences behind it.. i didnt get to be as close as i had wanted but thats ok, im sure there will be another time!! man the crowd went nuts (but funny thing no one seemed to know who they were). i had a couple people around me that kept asking who the band was. i find it hard to believe that these people had no idea who scars is, but i guess if you arent a huge system fan, then you really would have no idea. one of the people i met down in tucson didnt even know that system had split up. weird to me..
5th and final band.... METALLICA... but this time i was hot and thirsty so we made our way out of the pits to the drink stand in the back of this whole place.... we decided to stand along the sides away from the big crowd to watch and listen to their set... they played all their old shit!! yesssssssss... and they sounded perfect, everything was crisp and really good sounding!!
we got tired and decided to leave before they stopped playing tho.. yup, were gettin old.. hahaha.. so it took about an hour just to get out of the fairgrounds parking lot.. that sucked... people dont know how to drive in tucson.. on the way home we had to stop twice so i could rest, i was falling asleep at the wheel.. ooooopsies.. we ended up getting home around 4am today and then went to sleep... needless to say the concert was really good.. |

Haha we left before Metallica 'cuz my brother was having panic attacks. I heard some people had to wait 4 hours to get out xD Glad you enjoyed the show though. I thought Flobots were really good, but I guess you have to be into that stuff. Apocalyptica was my favorite of the night

By the way, what'd you look like? I was the short girl with brown hair and jeans and a green shirt that said "Chicago Irish Girl". I was with 4 taller college guys that were drunk and acting like assholes :p |

| ooh thanks for the link!! im short with hot pink and black hair, was at the left side with a big white dude with a goatee.. actually i just put a pic of me on the site a min ago from the show.. i do have some photos and video from this show, i suppose i can get them onto the pc and put them on here if anyones interested! |

| cool review...shouldnt come down so hard on people being abit drunk and having a good time though...its a rock concert, u gota expect it lol....glad Scars sounded good 4 ya...oh and i like your avatar pic! |

| actually, the pics suck.. i just finally got a chance to get them onto the computer and they are all frickin blurry.. ugh.. i added a few of apocalyptica to my myspace (13demons) and then im adding the couple videos (which also suck) to my youtube account (takersbabe13) .. i'm sorry guys i wish they wouldve turned about better, but i was being pushed around the whole time.. |
