| TBH so far im not that impressed. To start off i'm not that into darons voice it doesn't do it for me. I was kinda pissed off when daron started coming more into the spotlight in the last two albumns because he took system in a direction that i didn't like as much. I would be lying though if i said they were not inovative albumns as far as soad goes. I just didn't like them they were not as heavey as the first three. I'm not going to piss all over the SOB albumn before ive heard all its songs and i will buy it, but somehow I dont think its going to blow me away. Tankians albumn on the other hand i quite liked but i could only listen to it once because i found some of the songs a bit repetative. Hes a better musican than daron and your an idiot if you dont see that. He has a broader knowledge of styles and his voice has a better range it think. |

because they don't understand progressive music...he was the main driving force behind mez/hyp...musically, their most established and critically acclaimed albums. and add to this the added resentment that people hold against him because he and serj became a "double" frontman duo...and people don't like him.
other things which people seem to pick up on.
1. he isn't as "crazy" on stage anymore.
hmmm a number of reasons for this...he's simply grown up?? lol and the fact that he probably takes his music more seriously now, and therefore puts more passion into on stage.
2. he's gained weight...seriously...people seem to hold that against him?!
probably due to his continued drug use which means the inevitable "munchies" problem...and seeing as he's getting older, he can't keep the weight off as easy as he could before during his mid twenties.
3. people seem to think he's the main reason SOAD broke up
I genuinely believe Serj and Daron were equally to "blame"...both of them being the main creative devices in the band, they obviously felt that they had taken SOAD as far as they could for the time being.
4. i think there is a common perception amongst people that Daron is "arrogant" during interviews...
i think thats utter bullshit to be honest. i really believe that he is totally devoted to his music and this "arrogance" has been confused with a reluctance to be in the public eye. It seems to be a combination of a natural shyness and his honest persona which give people the wrong impression. I think when he see's a weakness in someone (for example..the stupid reporter "Julia" for the Iranium interviews) he will just exploit it...not in a nasty way, but he will not take the situation seriously. On the other hand however, when a respected journalist, like Zane Lowe (MTV2), interviewed him and Serj in 2005 before Mez was released, he gave really in depth answers...but you can clearly see he was uncomfortable with the intense questioning...
hmmm they are just a few of my opinions and reasons behind why people seem to dislike Daron... |

Lol his "arrogance" is like the big reason why i started liking him xD he just says whatever he wants to! imo Daron>Serj but i'm not blaming Serj or saying he sucks, no his music is very good but i just like Daron's style more and that's it so please everybody stop the Serj <-> Daron BS because if you hate/strongly dislike/or insult a member of soad you shouldn't be here. |
