John only did drumming on what, 2 tracks? Serj's voice =/= SOAD. SoB has two members. One of which wrote 95% of the music. On the "score board" SoB would would closer for influence alone. Serj Tankian doesn't sound like SOAD. Scars on Broadway will probably have similarities, but it won't be SOAD. Only SOAD will be SOAD. Why can't you people stop comparing everything to System and just take these new bands for what they are.
Like I've said in previous threads. People fell in love with certain band members instead of the band as a whole. When I saw this thread, I saw right pass the intent and knew it was just going to be "SERJ IS BETTER" and "NO DARON IS BETTER". It's obvious because you have comments like "Elect the Dead! Serj the best! He a thousand times better and more talented, than daron!" that totally IGNORE Achozen being there.
People need to stop this nonsense and either A) Accept the fact that SOAD has progressed as a band and are probably *not* going back to the style of the first 3 albums and be happy with it or B) Stop listening to System and exclusively listen to their other bands and be done with it |

you see , this is why I put Achozen as a choice in the poll , so that this thread wouldn't be a competition between Serj and Daron , I even voted Achozen , but it seems nobody wants to say : " all side projects are good " because lemons alone are not lemonade without the sugar and water , people try to prefer one , " sugar is sweet " , but it's no lemonade.
People want one band , they liked this one band , SOAD , but now that it doesn't exist , they still want ONE , and the obvious choice for the replacement is the most similar to the old one , in tha case Achozen is out of the debate , and it just happened to not be mentioned by anyone in these debates |

| All the projects haven't come out yet...how can anyone say "all the projects are good" if only one came out? |

here's how : before elect the dead came out , nobody knew what to expect , but they did , they should expect excellent vocals and a chance to hear Serj's musical abilities
so now , before Scars on Broadway comes out , people should expect , heavyhitting guitar , and fast and powerful drums
applying some of this method to Achozen : if you're familiar with RZA , you'll know exactly what to expect , and knowing Shavo , you'll be sure of good bass in their music to come |

But here's the thing. I didn't know what to expect with ETD. I figured the same thing as you - he has a nice voice ,and I know he's not a musically dummy. It came out, bought it, and hated it. I'm not going to assume what my favorite is going to be. You don't know what SoB will sound like nor have you heard anything (really) but one song.
You've heard nothing from Achozen.
Why not give them a chance before tossing them out on your baseless assumptions? |

| I'm Pro-Achozen , I wasn't dissing them , I was giving the basic elements , if you like these elements , means the project might be interesting . Bassist and Rapper , cool , therefore even though I haven't heard anything , I'm supportive of it |

So why not be supportive or Daron and John as well? Daron (who wrote most of the music for SOAD) and John who drummed for all of it, leading his skills into the mix that made SOAD so great?
You're pretty much giving me "SoB will suck because Daron is singing". Ignoring everything else. Like you said before "heavy hitting guitar, fast pounding drums". I ask you: Don't you like those elements? You don't have the be the greatest singer in the world for the song as a whole to be good. Like I said before:
Give it a chance before you judge it and call favorites. You may be disappointed at the end or pleasantly surprised. You don't know what it will sound like. I love Serj's voice. Expected it to be great. For me, it wasn't great at all. You might expect SoB to suck. You might expect it to be horrible. If you listen to it, you might like it.
Give these projects a chance before you assume. |

| for now, id have to say etd, idk bout u guys but that album surprisingly blew me away...but thats just for now, i still gotta wait for achozen and sob to release their albums, cuz for them, im only basing my opinion on one song they released |
