If you were me, could you defend
The given rights to all of man. - He's asking himself, is it important to discuss the case why System broke up and is there a point to dissing each other or stopping rumours OR this is a question: is there a point to rot in SOAD when he has so much more to offer?
Let's fuck the world with all its trend - He decides to don't get involved in any fight with former SOAD crew, in opposition to tendency of the world where everyone are fighting with each other

I watch the president fuck society. - Maybe that is about how Serj loved his style so much that he don't realized that there are fans who want to hear SOAD expanding and growing up with his style, not standing in one place. I mean, System has their fanbase (family), but to interest more people (society) he need to change style a little, and Serj wasn't aware of that

I fall in love with the old times. - Apart from the whole broke up thing, he feels a strong bond with the times when he started playin with SOAD, because that was beautiful times and so so

Well, imho it's not a diss on SOAD, it's just a though-off about his former band, the times that they were playin, the whole hiatus thing and many more.

clever theory but, why does everyone think daron is the one who couldnt wait to leave SOAD and do his own thing.

it always comes down to Daron....daron daron daron.....it was the BANDS dicision to branch off to do their own projects. not just daron.

Yeah it was band decision, they leaved each other with peace and that fine.
Why Daron? It's propably because he was the main compositor and lyrics writer in System, but he always had to respect and include some of the band thoughts (mainly Serj), and now he can play and write whatever he likes to. It's the whole "It is my band now." thing - now he can do with the music, lyrics and style exactly what he want to. I think that he was the backbone of SOAD, he's creative and he want to expand it as long as it's possible.

When I first say the thread on the list, the FIRST thing that popped into my head was:

Anyway, I don't really think it's what he's talking about. I think that's a way too far out there way of comparing things.
