Dont know if this counts as a side project or not but John joined TOOL for the last two nights helping the drummer Danny who recently had an arm injury. He stepped in on Lateralus the last two shows TOOL played at the Pearl in Las Vegas. http://toolnavy.com/showthread.php?t=81885

Cool! And not the first time John's played with them, either. The last time was in 2002, if I'm not mistaken.

I'd like to see Danny playing with SOAD... now that would be orgasmic.

Yeah, but is John really capable of playing tools music. No offence. |

^ Don't under-estimate John as a drummer, or artist in general. I think he's be perfectly capable of playing Tool's music.

I just mean.. hmmm, Tools music is pretty diffirent from Tools. And the time signatures and extra added notes in tools drum are pretty fucked up.. Lateralus shifts between 7/8, 8/8 and 9/8. And as most musicians know, that is pretty fucked up to play.
