Quote:

Lalalalalalalalalalala...
Lalalalalalalalalalala...

My baby, my baby,
Let me know,
Because you love me, you love me,
Let me go,
And you're my lover, you pay me,
Twice my size,
And on your knees you lay,
In my thighs...

Take my hand and let's end it all,
She broke her little bones,
On the boulders below,
Take my hand and let's end it all...

My baby, my baby,
Let me go,
And if you love me, you love me,
Let me go,
Cause I'm your brother, your brother,
Have some pride,
And now you love me, you love me,
Then die tonight...

Take my hand and let's end it all,
She broke her little bones,
On the boulders below,
Take my hand and let's end it all,
Broke her little bones.
On the boulders below,
And while she fell I delightfully said...

Lalalalalalalala lie lie lie...(x12)

She took my hand and I let her go,
She broke her little bones,
On the boulders below,
Took my hand and she ended it all,
Broke her little bones on the boulders below,
And while she fell, I smiled...

Lalalalalalalala lie lie lie...(xCool

The first verse is being said from the point of view of Iraq talking to America. America is trying to show their "love" of Iraq by this whole war and force feeding them a democracy. Iraq doesn't want this and just wants America to let them go. The twice my size line refers to America's geographic difference in size over Iraq and also maybe to the stereotype that America is obese.

The next verse, the one with "take my hand" and "broke her little bones" is probably the most important. I think this is referring to how America is extending her hand to "help" Iraq (but it's all a Lie) and our forced attempts to help them is what is destroying Iraq. Visualize this to help understand better if I didn't explain it well. Imagine a person (Iraq) is hanging off a cliff in danger of falling. Another person (America) extends their hand to offer help but purposely lets Iraq fall to their death.

Now the next verse switches point of views. Now it's America talking. I think the "I'm your brother, have some pride" line is saying that America is trying to convince Iraq that we're just some loving brothers of theirs and that Iraq needs to take some pride and stop fighting against us because we're just trying to help. "And now you love me, and die tonight" is saying that if Iraq does that and does whatever we want them to do instead of letting them handle their own affairs, it will lead to their downfall.

The rest of the song is basically repeating what's already been said.

I know that the video, and at first glance, the lyrics, make this song appear to be some wacky song about an incestuous relationship but this is what I feel the song means. In my view, every song on this album is either about politics or civilzation in general so it would make no sense to have a random song like this unless it had a similar meaning. Also, remember that Serj said that Lie, Lie, Lie was originally a lot more serious. I think what he did when he changed it was make the lyrics and music a lot less serious but he still retained his original serious meaning figuratively.

This is my first song interpretation on SOADFans. What do you think?

Thats amazing! Really good job! And the video can be totally different from the songs, its from the director's point of view the videos were made.

That was amazing, Helljumper! That gives me a whole new perspective on the song now.

Wow, I like that interpretation! I really enjoy seeing people actually taking their time to seriously try to understand lyrics of a song, especially if they turn out very creative like this interpretation.
