| No, they're not all out. Achozen and Scars still haven't released their albums yet. Get a grip. |

| Or we should just wait until the albums come out, so we can analyze correctly. |

This is prejudice, but if I compare Deuces to Scars' they say and weenie roast tracks, or etd, I'm not that into it.
Scars is fast, Serj is slow and Achozen still.
But we should really wait... |

hmmm i suppose it is was going to happen sooner or later...but we need to compare Scars and Serj's stuff
First of all, i've seen both of them live and personally, i preferred Scars' set alot more...HOWEVER this is abit unfair. Serj was supporting the Foos when i saw him, therefore the intensity of the crowd towards his music was nowhere near as close to the electric atmosphere at the Underworld. However, having said that, I do believe, when watching Serj, all your attention seems to be focussed upon him...you have the feeling that it's "Serj & a back up band" where as with Scars, you really feel the chemistry between them all. Daron doesn't dominate the stage too much. His STARE really is quite striking but i found myself looking at Danny and Franky loads too because of their intensity was really profound. So, to compare the live performances...i really do feel Scars were the better out of the two and i also feel they have a better chance of longevity as a unit.
To compare the two albums themselves, I also prefer Scars. Technically, it is a far superior album to Serj's. I have the overwhelming feeling whilst listening to Elect the Dead that is has a really un-human kind of feel. (This is really hard to explain) but for me there seems to be an over-reliance on technology to produce the music (drum tracks etc). Although Scars' album is actually quite straight forward to replicate, it has a a much more organic feel to it. Additionally, the diversity of Scars' album is wider than Serj's. Not one song sounds the same where as, apart from maybe 2/3 songs on EtD (Elect the Dead and Praise the Lord) all the songs sound abit "samey" for me.
In terms of the two vocal performances - it would be unfair to say Daron is the better singer. However, Serj has one of the best voices in the rock music scene so hardly anyone can compare to his dynamic voice. However, having said that i really believe Daron's vocal ability has vastly improved and the range in which he uses it on the album is on par with Serj - if not better! Moreover, the live vocal performance of Daron, with the REALLY strong back ups from Franky has a better sound to Serj's.
Lyrically, Daron seems to commentate on more social and personal issues. Where as, while Serj also does this to an extent, i believe his lyrics have more of a preaching angle?? Not in a negative way at all...but his lyrics seem to aim at highlighting injustices around the world and in his personal life, where as Daron seems to simplify these subjects into a more straight forward, but equally as powerful (if not more) context.
well done if you have read all the way down here!!! It's really early to be truly objective about the Scars' album but when comparing the two...it has to be Scars for me!!
(and no..i didnt forget Achozen...but in terms of the genre of music, it would be difficult and really unfair to compare them) |

I don't agree. Daron's song sounds quite good live, but all this songs are just weak. I think Franky is better singer than daron. Daron sometimes has a problem with singing, but frandy as a backup is perfect.
Serj has a little worse backup (mario, dan), but he sings much better. His songs are much better too.
In studio daron's songs sounds terrible. Serj made much better work during recording album.
So.. Serj solo is much, MUCH better than Scars. He has great songs, great melodies, great ideas. Daron's melodies are quite irritating. For example Serious.. ugh.. terrible. And serj do experiments like praise the lord, daron solo is just boring. |

^ fair enough - just seems so far that the general concensus on here and professional reviews/opinions from magazines is that the Scars album is fantastic...but hey, if you don't like it...you don't like it?! |

I haven't listened to the Scars album yet , just the 30 sec previes , and I remember nothing from them
I'd like to buy it and take my time with it
but till now , it's just me , but I'm not comfortable with Scars , it's just me , I'm just not
it may grow on me after I listen to all the songs , even Hungry Ghost |
