I don't really cry to a song, but I do get a bit melancholic with a few tunes, here are some examples:
The One - Limp Bizkit: I don't like LB, but I don't know... that song is depressing in a good way.
Spiders, Metro - S.O.A.D.: Spiders is melancholic as shit, and Metro... I don't know! It's weird. As someone says, it reminds me of things that are left behind and won't come back. It brings back good memories, I guess.
El Mañana - Gorillaz: Again, I don't really like Gorillaz (save a few songs, like 'C.Eastwood' or 'Feel Good Inc.'), but this song is just fantastic. Very sad. Gorillaz songs seem to have a melancholic feel to them in general.
And I'm sure there are others but I can't think of any right now... |

"Tomb of Liegia" - Team Sleep
It has this haunting, sad feel to it. |

Agalloch - Tomorrow Will Never Come
Alice In Chains - Rain When I Die
Alice In Chains - Nutshell
Bob Dylan - Blowin' In The Wind
Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven
Foo Fighters - My Hero
John Lennon - Imagine
Marilyn Manson - Man That You Fear
Mudvayne - World So Cold
Pink Floyd - Pretty much the whole "The Wall" album. If I listened to that when I'm high, I'd probably break down in tears.
Slipknot - Snuff
Stone Sour - Zzyzx Rd.
Warning - All their stuff
That one song that starts, "So this is Christmas...". I don't know man, it's wierd.
"Happy Christmas"
And Shinedown's version of Simple Man.
Simple Man
When he says, "...Dimebag Darrel" I always get choked up. |

John Lennon - Imagine
[SOAD] is awesome on creating a certain vibe:
Soldier Side
Holy Mountains (Used that song as inspiration when i wrote about the armenian genocide)
Lonely Day
and some more from them.[/SOAD]
Sybreed - Ethernity
Fear factory - Timelessness, nuff said.
Machine Head - Descend The Shades of Night
When I saw the on The Black Crusade two or three days after Phil Demmel's father died and they played it for him. I can't listen to that song without thinking about it. |
