Yep, I'm sure Daron wanted to put more effort and energy into making music rather than the business side; i don't think Serj will let us down in the long term
p.s with all due respect, i kindly asked people not to make any direct criticism to Casey and AMEN.
Let me clear this up, regardless of what you think of Casey and AMEN
Casey is not trouble.
Casey has strong passion and belief in his music.
His music is obviously not the most easily digestible, not made for mass commercial appeal.
Eaturmusic was Daron's label, but remember it was an imprint of Sony so they more or less needed to see some 'results' from his sales as well.
"Death before Musick" isn't exactly easy listening.
Daron wanted to try give Casey a leg up, he did a great job getting DBM on the shelves, out in the stores with good distribution.
Obviously it's not a top 10 hit. Record label doesn't get the results they want.
Also, being an imprint, there is no day to day promo / A&R staff or whoever to promote the record and help get it marketed or whatever..
There is no bad blood between Daron and Casey themselves..it's all because of issues with the imprint and Sony who were behind it
Hence, Daron obviously has decided to let Eaturmusic go, for the time being, or for ever, who knows. Too many business aspects involved. Daron said he doesn't want to be responsible for making or breaking people's careers. |

Thanks for your input KRNR. That was a good informative post.
Only thing I find a bit odd if Sony were behind the ditch of Amen, is that Daron was quoted to have said he would only sign bands that he loved and that it wasn't about sales, but about giving bands a chance. |

| I remember that too. But I Imagine it wouldn't work out, like it didn't, with sony involved. Serj's record label, he has free range, and can afford to make profit losses, (although i'm pretty sure he doesn't) |

| This really doesn't have much to do with eatURmusic, but I read on a Casey Chaos fansite that Casey helped write most of the lyrics to Mez/Hyp albums wrote some lyrics to BYOB and he didn't get credit for it. I have never heard of this before until I looked at that website (the website is http://www.refusemusick.com/coma_board/ ... ;start=0). And Casey fans are saying that he should sue Daron and SOAD for not giving him money and not crediting him. I have never heard about Casey helping SOAD's album, has anyone else? And the website is called Propamenda (Propaganda) so who knows. /: |

There's been a thread about that in SOAD Discussion, http://www.soadfans.com/PNphpBB2-viewto ... tart-0.htm |

| It was such a shame when the Message Board stopped, they were all a bunch of fun people. I'm sure, if it's meant to come back, it will. |

HEY SY!!!
I'm pretty much a newb here too!
------------
Even the people who were running the EUM board don't know what happened to the EUM board!
It just disappeared one day and never a word!
I was a "regulator" (mod) there.
That site was gone a bit before Ozzfest, so I'm not sure of the validity of that part. Maybe he knew about it a while in adavnce and so it didn't seem like the timing was related. Who knows?
AMEN had been gone for easily a year before that.
I used to go to the AMEN forums, but the people there (IMO) are way too........mmm......snobby?
It was as like, if you don't know everything about them and have met them first hand, then you don't deserve to be there.
i do have one friend from there.
I think he is their biggest fan, so at least he was cool!
Satyricon is awesome!
I had hoped that EUM would be a success. I had gotten a few of my friends to send in demos, and a lot of bands that went to the forums are on myspace, so I keep up with them.
--------------------------
The Scars On Broadway stickers have the EUM picture on the back (teeth eating cd), so maybe he will start it back up and put his own band on the label? |

| i think this is hilarious. Daron obviously isn't as great as he thinks he is. I wont be surprised if Scars on broadway is a big pile of crap. He has become this power-hungry jerk and I don't care what the band says, i blame Daron for the so-called hiatus. |

I'd been thinking that too until the whole site disappeared when the domain name expired.
As for Ninjabutterfly's statement.. This is still a FAN site, so don't be surprised if people look up to the guys as demi-gods. However, fan or not, you can't deny Daron's musical talent. Which is still far more important than any character traits you wish to stick upon him. |
