I couldn't wait to get to the Pavillion. I had just made it on time. I had just drove in from Ozzfest in San Antonio. I was tired but not tired enough for another performance of SOAD. Didn't care too much for Phantom of England. Bad Acid Trip, Hatebreed and Avenge Sevenfold put a good performance. After Avenge Sevenfold performance I knew that SOAD was coming on next. Compare from San Antonio SOAD really put on a great performance Then Serj comes out with his cowboy hat. He was so full of energy dancing and singing like he use to. The old Serj was back. Daron was great too. Daron did tease us a little bit when they were singing Toxicity. Right in the middle of the song he stopped playing. There was that long pause and then when the hard core riff started the whole crowd went crazy. I would say that everybody at the Pavillion was there for System Of A Down. They can not deny how much we love them and how much we are dedicated to them. I was really glad to hear from Daron they were not breaking up. I'm glad that he put those rumors to rest. I did notice that Serj and Daron were alot friendlier to each other. There was a hug during the performance. Which I was glad to see and feel the love there. Here's the list of songs they may not be in order:
Soldier side intro
Attack
BYOB
Needles
Deer Dance
Pyscho
Chop Suey
Suggestions
Kill Rock and Roll
Sultans of Swing
Old School Hollywood
Violent Pornography
Cigaro
Lonely Day
Radio/Video
Hypnotize
Lost In Hollywood
Question!
Sad Statue
War?
Aerials
Toxicity
Suite-Pee
Sugar
I would have to say this. System of A Down put the BEST performance EVER!! System Of A Down left Houston knowing how much we love them! |

Good review, but you left out Suggestions. I believe it was the 4th or 5th song they did.
I was truely amazed at how PERFECT the sound was at this show. I saw SOAD last year in Dallas at the AA Center, and the sound was not great. This time it was ABSOLUTELY perfect. I'm slightly dissapointed they didn't do Holy Mountain, but I guess we can't have EVERYTHING go our way! |

You are absolutely right. I did forget that. I wish they would have played all their songs. But we cant have everything. |

I dont have a previous performance to compare them to, but I really do think it was one of the greatest performances I have seen of them (from videos, and stuff). And youre right, I think Houston did show them how much we love them.
This is rather off topic, but you mentioned the other band, Phantom of england? Was that the first band? I thought they were called 'Fair to Midland'? Please correct me if I am wrong. |

Yeah, I thought they were going to go into Holy Mountain when they went into the weird interlude before "War?". I remember Serj saying something to the effect of "Holy Mountain" (something) "It's a fucking choice." |

Yes, it was "Fair to Midland." I thought it was kind of weird they didn't introduce themselves. Their sound was interesting. They played a few songs, the singer took a bad spill and that was it. |

That singer was high on something cuz he kept going everywhere around the stage. He was a joke to me. |
