I know a bloke who auditioned for Megadeath and got quite far.
My uncle was the last person to finish under 3 hours in the London marathon this year.

uhhh.... my uncle's a drummer in a band called King Voodoo. They're not that famous but they've been on TV and have a cd released ( http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... ;s=music).
and... hmmm.. that's about it. I think my grandpa's cousin (something like that) was a football player...
EDIT: Another claim to faim, in the movie The Outsiders, the guy's highschool is actually the 7th grade center in my town.

Hmm. My dad, according to a popular urban legend, is the subject matter of the Jam song 'Down In The Tube Station At Midnight' after he was attacked by skinheads as a 14 year old punk in the 1970's. The Jam came to visit him in hospital.
Also, my mum knew the midget who played R2D2

I've met Conan O'Brian and Dan Marino. My father has met and used to be pen pals with Rush, Neil Peart in particular on the pen pal thing. My mother made out with one of the two Dukes Of Hazzard. My grandmother met Garth Brooks in a bar. My great grandfather was honored at the white house and met Dwight Eisenhower, and got his picture taken with him. My great uncle knew Strom Thurman.

Girl- Um...Um....is your name Logan?
Logan- ...yes...
Girl- Um, are you the Logan from the Exaggerated Life Story?
Logan- Yyyeees....
Girl- OMIGOD WILL YOU SIGN MY BOOK?!?!?!?
Logan- *kerblink* Um, sure.

Some of the bands I've been in have opened for/performed with groups such as: The Meters, Wall of Voodoo, Ziggy Marley, Mystic Revealers, Steel Pulse, Yellowman, Pato Banton, Jimmy Cliff, Richie Havens, etc.
I've also met a ton of artists, most of whom I have pictures of including everyone from Paul Simon to Eric Clapton, BB King, Phish, Allman Bros, Dave Matthews, Ray Charles, Little Richard, etc. I've worked both as a musician and behind the scenes in the business for a long time. You get to a point where seeing somebody famous isn't a big deal. The last thing you want to do is look like a dork trying to get their attention when you wouldn't know what to say. As a result, while I met a lot of famous people, there are only a few that I really got a chance to know and that's just because we had something in common, or the circumstances made it work out.

OMG!! my sister just sent her pics into Australias next top model and they are flying her down to brisbane to audition in person because they think she is really pretty, if she makes it into the house i'll be famous YAAAHH!! But the best part is i'm gonna be famous in my area next week coz we have two towns inisfail and tully, they are 40 minutes apart and they each have their own little gay newspaper, (it is sooo easy to get into) i once got ont he front page of the innisfail paper for going to a science fair and sitting next to a bed of nails, not lying on it! sitting next to it. She is gonna be on the front page "local girl selected to model" yeah, but it'd be even better if she made it in, then we could be modelling twins (if i lost a couple of pounds) even though we are 6 years apart
