I'm gonna avoid this topic like the plague you know, since it's less than 2 weeks away and you'd be able to hear all the songs. I think listening to even samples now, would ruin the excitement of hearing it for the first time the day it comes out. But that's just me.

Yeah, well, I was a bit worried about not recognizing many of the songs when I go to the show Friday night, and this is enough of a taste that I'll possibly be able to figure them out.
And Elect the Dead? I'm gonna cry.
And I think I can already guess a couple of songs I think John is drumming on.

Very cool thanks for the link daniel but I only listened to Blue because I had to know if it was a new song or an SOAD song... it was eating me up inside but now I know and I feel like I can finally shit again. Anyways I will just wait to hear the album when it leaks in a couple of days now... cant be that long right??? I mean all albums leake early.... right??? Yea it will... I know it will. OK breath in and breath out. I feel better now.
EDIT: HAHA I just starting reading the post on this thread and a lot of people did what I did (only listened to Blue). That makes me feel better. It will be worth it when I hear the whole album from start to finish.

wow, fricken awesome find... I think blue will be a cool change from the original, and Falling Stars sounds like one HELL of a bonus track, love the guitar/drums at the end of the chorus(es)

Edit: I really like Blue. Mainly because I liked the original, and this ones a cool version.

I agree with what a few people have said here...I kinda feel that a lot of the songs are kinda similar with the mellow slow parts building up to epic parts...but it's definitely not bad enough for me to not buy, plus it's only a 30 second song sample. I'm definitely gonna get the limited edition.

I click on the "horen" button and it appears to be loading a track, at least that's what I'm assuming it's doing when it says "stopp" but nothing happens really.

What do you mean "sound" like SOAD? SOAD's a combination of all 4 members, so naturally he'd sound like the band he's in, unless he purposely went into a different genre.

Question for those who have listened: Do you think you guys will be as excited for the 23rd now that you've heard samples of all (or some of) the songs, or do you think that's ruined? I couldn't imagine being as excited listening to it for the first time after hearing samples. So, opinions?

dude, they are just little samples of the song, not enough to give it away, it makes the excitment, for me anyway, like ten times better, because now you have a little of the song and you want more and its going to make you that much more excited when you actually get to hear the full song.

i just now listened to them, and i am even more stoked for the cd now then i was before i listened to them, no lie bro!

I couldn't help it, I had to listen...just like I immediately dove right in when I found out Saving Us was out(before I found out Serj didn't want it leaked). I'm definately more pumped now. Watching Saving Us pumped me up...now hearing those clips...wow. I'm particularly looking foward to Sky Is Over and the acoustic Empty Walls.

Same here. I dunno, it seems like people just want it more, but for me, even hearing a few seconds (aside from what was on that interview) would kinda make me go 'meh' when I listened to it. I like to be "surprised", in that sense.

I wouldn't say it's bad, because it was a 30 second clip and just the chorus. It could have great verses, and an okay chorus, but I do expect it to be the worst on the album.

is it just me or is serj's lyrics on all his songs not that creative. It seems very repititive with his lines. IMO, his lyrics are pretty bad in the creativity department IMO..........

Besides that, I agree with you. People seem to be badly hurt when you say something they don't love, and they tend to react without thinking too much. Yet, that doesn't give you the right to insult anybody. So, again, calm the fuck down, please.
On another note, I do belive Serj's lyrics were a bit better before.. Judging by what I heard so far, didn't hear the full album, so I can't really. say.

I think he is creative, but his choruses seem quite repetitive judging by the 30 Second Samples and the 3 songs I have heard (Ths may change, though). Basically every song he writes seems to have the name of the song in the chorus, repeated a lot. This is one of the things that put me off some of the songs on there. Great Riffs and Melody but the chorus lyrics were driving me up the wall.
I think Daron is more talented at writing than Serj.
