August 30, 2007 - Wyclef Jean's forthcoming new Columbia Records release, The Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant, will feature a bevy of interesting guest artists.
The album, which is Jean's sixth full-length solo endeavor, picks up on the themes of his 1997 debut effort, Wyclef Jean Presents The Carnival Featuring Refugee All-Stars.
While the first single, "Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)," features Akon, Lil' Wayne and Niia, these are not the only high profile guests making appearances throughout the album.
Jean has called upon a richly diverse list of collaborators which include Paul Simon on a track named "Fast Car," Mary J. Blige, T.I., Norah Jones, Akon, Serj Tankian of System Of A Down on the song "Trouble Again." Shakira and a few other surprise guests pop up along the way, as well.
The Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant was produced in its entirety by Jean along with long-time production partner, Jerry "Wonda" Duplessis.

The album is slated for a fall release.

I can't picture Mary J. Blige, T.I., Norah Jones, Akon, and Serj Tankian in the same room. From my standpoint, he commands much more respect than they do!

I saw Wyclef Jean once when he was a guest on the Dave Chapelle show. I was so surpised & impressed - his music actually moved me emotionally. So, good choice, Serj!

Also, I don't like how he'll be sharing one song with 5 different artists...it should be just him and Wyclef so we can hear more of him!

I can see Serj, Wyclef, and Mary J in the same room. I mean that woman has been around for awhile plus she did the One song with U2 and it was awesome. Her voice is amazing the other peeps...I dunno.....I had high hopes for Norah Jones but her music puts me to sleep.
