System to Tour UK in Early 2006 |

Metal Hammer Magazine, got a small interesting article about system: System of a Down return with their 2nd album 'Hypnotize' on Nov. 22nd, part two of the package that also includes 'Mezmerize' which was unveiled in May. The band also planning UK shows in the 1st part of 2006.
"We're going to be touring non-stop for the rest of the year and we're looking at European shows in the first part of next year" singer Serj Tankian told Hammer.
As Previously reported, the reason for releasing 2 albums was because after recording, the band realized that they had 2 albums worth of great songs that were all connected with each other. Rather than whittle them down, they decided to release them 6 months apart to give fans a chance to absorb the first album fully before they heard the second
Like 'Mezmerize', the new album is a mix of politically charged songs like 'Attack' - which seems to be explicitly about the war in Iraq and more bizarre scatological songs, all written by guitarist/singer Daron Malakian.
As well as touring and promoting the album, the band have been in the news for their political activities.
On Sep. 28, Serj along with leaders of the Armenian National Committee (ANC) and the Armenian Youth Federation staged a rally in front of the office of Dennis Hastert.
"We're trying to encourage him to do the right thing historically, morally and even politically" says Serj. "Europe, South America, Canada and 38 out of 50 states in the US have already recognized what happened as genocide, so its an historical fact. if the US as a nation recognized the genocide, because it is such a close ally of Turkey, would help Turkey deal with its own past."
In the letter delivered to the speaker, Serj wrote "My grandfather, Stepan Haytayan, Serj 97-year-old survivor of the genocide. He's my only link to this past. O promised him that I would try to reach you and explain how important American recognitions to the surviving children of the first genocide of the 20th century."
When asked, How much the music of a band like SOAD can lead people to question policies, Serj said: "I've been told that we have been and again I'm not sure exactly what impact we have as a band helping people to be critical of things, what is politics? It's such an interconnected world, politics is only really the way that affects everyone. If you say that politics doesn't affect you then the next time you use passport and you're treated a certain way then you won't know why"

They're going to tour in the UK in early 2006. Damn. I was hoping they would start up in the states again. I know I have to share their greatness with the rest of the world. Can't wait to see them again the second time around for Hypnotize.

It's the media that's sold Slipknot and everything else to the Mini Avrils in the same way. There's nothing we can do about it apart from keep to the truth about what 'we' like.
